Wig Care

CUTTING AND SECURING THE LACE
The lace is there to give you a transparent surface to attach the wig to your head, so you need around 1cm left so you can apply the spirit gum directly to that edge. Trim the lace from ear to ear with scissors leaving the 1cm lip from the hairline all the way round and then when you wear you will have that small bit of lace visible from the hairline. We suggest to hold the wig with one hand from the inside and slowly cut the lace with the other hand. We have included a wig cap for your usage, which will help with grip and prevent breakage and thinning of your natural hair underneath.  We suggest using a strong spirit gum to attach the lace to your skin. For added security, use grips to attach the wig to your wig cap.  Always clean residual glue off the lace after every usage, to keep the style looking as pristine as possible. This can be achieved by rubbing softly with 70% alcohol/spirit gum remover to break down glue build up.

WARNING: Cutting the lace too short can cause the hairline to fray and make the wig ill fitting.

MAINTAINING YOUR WIG
Remember to handle her gently, some of the styles are more decorative, so are not styled for high energy dancing.  When your wig first arrives, please try to lift from inside the wig cap structure.  We use a strong hairspray to style and to set our wigs, but under hot lights these can deteriorate.  You can restructure your wigs by adding more hairspray, we recommend using the Schwarzkopf Silhouette hairspray for a flexible hold and setting rock hard (should you want) with the Got2Be Glued.  We suggest to keep your wig on a wig head in a hairnet and duckbill clips when not in use, to minimise tangling.  You can carefully brush the underneath of your wig to remove tangles and spray build up, if your style has brushable ends.  If there are flyaways, use an old toothbrush with a small amount of pomade on to smooth those down.
